Lions Row Campsite is located in the peaceful hamlet of Loudham, nestled in the scenic Suffolk countryside. We are just a short drive from the historic market town of Woodbridge and the famous National Trust site at Sutton Hoo, making us the perfect base for exploring coastal Suffolk.
What kind of camping experience do you offer?
We offer a rustic, back-to-basics, off-grid camping experience. Our site is a natural, un-spoilt farm meadow where you can pitch up, switch off, and connect with nature. If you love wild camping but appreciate having essential facilities nearby, you will love our relaxed, informal atmosphere. For some, it is called “nearly wild camping”.
Do you have hot showers and toilets on-site?
Yes! While we pride ourselves on being a traditional, rustic campsite, we know how important creature comforts are. We have clean, basic toilet facilities and a top-rated, great hot shower available for all of our campers.
Are campfires and BBQs allowed at Lions Row?
Is the campsite suitable for stargazing and wildlife spotting?
Absolutely. It wouldn't be a true Suffolk camping trip without a campfire! We highly encourage campfires and BBQs. Local tip: Ask Charlie about sourcing some incredible local venison for your BBQ during your stay—it is a guest favourite.
Yes, our location is fantastic for nature lovers. Thanks to minimal light pollution, Lions Row is a brilliant spot for stargazing and dark sky photography. Our meadow is also teeming with Suffolk birdlife—keep your eyes and ears open for Skylarks, Red Kites, Nightingales, and the elusive Nightjars.
Is the campsite ground flat?
As a authentic, back-to-basics farm field, the ground at Lions Row is uneven in places. We keep our spacious pitches freshly mowed, but we embrace the natural landscape of the Suffolk countryside. We recommend bringing sturdy footwear and choosing the best spot for your setup when you arrive!
